As time permits, we’ll be adding new games.

If you want a game or game niche added and want to be in the drivers seat then contact one of the ladder administratorsWe’ll put you in charge of the game of your choosing.  Leading a ladder won’t require much time – we only ask that you keep your ladder updated and that you treat the players that join with the respect they expect.  It’s all in the name of fun but we also want to maintain and develop standards so that we are able to grow and expand as we move forward.

soapinmyeyes.com momentum

The purpose of this first post is simply to lay out the framework for future ones. As it may read somewhat dry and technical, I’ll do my best to keep this brief and we’ll be able to move ahead and post the things that will better define soapinmyeyes.com.

At the time of this writing, soapinmyeyes.com is currently getting between 22,000 and 24,000 page views a month. Not bad considering the relatively limited scope we’ve worked around the past two years. Today soapinmyeyes.com takes a big step forward. Building on our solid foundation, soapinmyeyes.com becomes “something bigger” than it has been. We’re now reaching out to a larger internet audience.

In balance with our already established forum, soapinmyeyes.com’ new “front end” will be a place for contributors to document using a variety of tools - covering topics ranging from internet and console systems and game reviews to cultural observations on the internet hubs and communities that bring us together.

Covering a broad range of topics, we’ll keep things organized and searchable by adding new categories as needed. Site contributors will also have the option of using a 10-point review system for opinion on anything from game and system reviews, some new technology, or possibly even more abstract areas of interest.

Over time, the forum will also evolve. The nature of forums tends to be a little chaotic and difficult to quickly navigate. We plan on keeping the forum relaxed but moderation will improve and more importance will be placed with staying on topic. We’ll also add and remove forum categories to fill in the spaces that this “blog” and other expansions create.

As we move forward, we’re sure to take shape in predictable and some unpredictable ways. With a growing base of experience-guided original content covering internet, gaming, and technology …etc, we expect to have favorable indexing with google and other important search engines that will help guide savvy web surfers to our site for it’s strong opinion and technological experience - increasing our traffic and momentum.

For now, most limits on the topics that will be posted here will be revealed through time. While game reviews should be a big part of what occurs here, we have much to talk about …if a site contributor has good advice or opinion on some important technology then we want to hear about it and share this knowledge with our site visitors. Our niche will focus organically over time.

In the days and months ahead, we’ll have many site contributors. Soapinmyeyes.com, already being an established hub for many internet gaming communities, is in a unique position - we have many friends that will contribute and help write the important factual information that our site visitors can put to use.

From our Q+A located at forum.soapinmyeyes.com:

”Our administrators have a combined gaming experience of hundreds of years. Soapinmyeyes total community gaming experience could be measured in thousands of years. The games played by our administrators, contributors, and soapinmyeyes.com visitors stretches across the PC and console market, from the highly promoted state of the art games advertised on major television networks to games that most people will never hear about. We are everywhere. We observe and we document. soapinmyeyes.com is a system. We are a growing community with opportunity in several directions. The players, administrators, contributors, and site visitors to the soapinmyeyes.com “subculture” are students and professionals from across the globe. We are organized. As time permits, we do constructive things online. The future belongs to us and to others like us that we’ve yet to meet.”

Lets get this thing moving. Over the next week or so, we’ll be tweaking this site and setting up accounts for the contributors that have already expressed interest in a writing position - we’ll always have room for additional quality contributors and look forward to building bridges with an ever-diversified crew of observers.

Some of my first post will be reviews and will center on the Nintendo Wii game system and a handful of its games that I’ve had a chance to experience …good times.
